Happy Wednesday. Don’t you just love Wednesdays? I know some call it hump day and others say we are only halfway through the work week. I say “the week is over half done and that means the weekend is almost here”!!! Best of all, this is a looong weekend for my hubby. We aren’t going anywhere, but I love spending time with him, so it doesn’t matter what we are doing. We will probably be working on a couple projects. I hear 18 yards of bark mulch calling my name.
I realize my last post was 11 days ago and I have to tell you that I don’t know how some of you do it. When I get on the computer, between emails, Twitter, Pinterest, blogs and Facebook, there goes three hours. That does not include working on my blog entries. How some of you do it on a daily basis is beyond me!!! I feel like I lose so much time so I have only been going on the computer every other day. Please share your secrets with me.
So, on to my cards for the day. One of my fellow DT member’s grandparents are going to be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. Can you believe it? Seventy years, I am still in shock. What a milestone. I am excited to be reaching 30 soon, Hawaii, here we come!! I think it is wonderful, but unfortunately they do not have too many friends that are still alive to celebrate with them, so she has asked us each to design a card for them and send them to Arkansas. I was thrilled to participate. Here is a wonderful image from Jackson’s Digital Expressions entitled “the wedding”. I colored it with Copics and then matted it alternating with white and black. The floral embellishments are from Recollections.
Many of you know that I do not usually buy Michaels’ brand embellishments as I have had bad luck with them in the past. These are the exception to that. I have a couple different ones to show you here. If you look closely at these flowers, the petals are actually heart shaped. That was what attracted me to them. There are 8 in a package and are only 99 cents!
Here is my 5 X 7 card:
My next card is an A2 card for the floral challenge at the Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog this week. I have used the little Bestie cutie called Clever Chloe Besties digi stamp which is by Sherri Baldy. Mine also had the added description of patches because her clothing and accessories had the wonderful colors on them. I used Copics to complete her with some Glossy Accents on the lenses of her glasses and some silver Stickles on the ruffle of her dress. I then matted her on black Bazzill after cropping her into a rectangle. The flowers are from my scraps bin and I added some pearly Dew Drops for the centers. The metal sentiment is from Momenta.
I thought the Dew Drops were beautiful when I bought them last August but they have just been sitting. I used Zots to adhere them but would be interested in what the rest of you use. I think they will become one of my new favorite embellishments. So here she is:
I would love to hear from you so please consider commenting and of course I love new followers so share my info with your friends and fellow scrappers. If you have friends that enjoy handmade products but don’t have the time or don’t enjoy the process, send them over to my main website, I would be happy to design items for them. They can go directly to the shop now page or they can message me if they have special requests through the contact us page.
I will be entering these cards into a few challenges this week:
