Day 3 Card – A Card A Day Challenge

Happy National Scrapbooking Day.  Though I did not scrapbook today, I did work on cards so I think that counts.  When I first started scrapbooking it was many years ago on this weekend event.  I was so amazed at what everyone was doing that I immediately became hooked.  I had always worked with painting and crafts but it was my first look at scrapbooking.  I dove right in and never looked back.

Funny that this year it also coincides with Star Wars Day so I do hope the fourth has been with you all day!

Did any of you participate in the new image release at Scrapbook Stamp Society today?  I was amazed how many new images were released today and what a wide variety to choose from.  Did you know that in addition to the digital images they also have rubber stamps, CDs with whole collections of images, and embellishment products?  If you are a scrapbooker, card maker, or are artistically inclined, you should head over and check out all the products at Scrapbook Stamp Society

Today I would like to share a card with you using an image by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff entitled October Rose.  You can purchase October Rose at SSS.  This card will fit in an envelope for a 6 X 6 card.  I was motivated by the other Design Team members at Scrapbook Stamp Society to have the image be offset on the card base.  I always love the way their cards look so I used some dark red Bazzill to cut the base for this A2 size card.  After coloring the image with my Copics, I ran it with a die through the Cuttlebug and then adhered it on the A2 base at an angle and offset so that at the widest points it is 6 X 6.

I hope you like the results of this Birthday Card.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back tomorrow as I have numerous cards in the works right now.

I will be entering this card into some challenges this week:

Crafty Calendar - Blooms & Blossoms

Our Creative Corner - Anything Goes

    • Chris, I always have a hard time choosing which image to use because there are so many that I love. Thanks for checking things out.

    • Thank you Sylvia. I saw several other people design with the images at an angle and off the base, it really gives you a lot more options. Thank you for stopping by.

  1. Lovely colouring… I’m very taken with her gray hair – you don’t often get an image of a mature woman that’s not comic, so I love that! Thanks for playing along with us at Our Creative Corner.

    • Alison, thank you for coming by. I’m always impressed with other designer’s hair coloring so I have been trying to experiment.

    • Laura, I love all the inspiration at Creative Corner. Thank you for taking time to come by. Have a great holiday weekend.
